Line Landscapes

2nd Grade created these Awesome Line Landscapes. We watched a fun little video that showed how Foreground, Middle Ground, and Background helps create perspective and point of view. Students drew a landscape using overlapped shapes to create distance that shows Near and Far.

After drawing the landscape, students outlined their work with Sharpie. They then used washable markers and treated the markers like watercolor. Tracing their shapes using thick lines and then going over the marker with a wet brush to disperse the color. Doing this technique created beautiful results.

Students were encouraged to mix colors, push value, and create fun hues.

I am so happy how they turned out.
Each landscape is uniquely colorful & cheerful!

Everyone was super successful and proud!
