Identity Silhouettes

 Identity Silhouettes

5th grade had a blast using the old projector to trace their shadows.

Students studied the strange collage portraits of 15th century painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo.

Students looked at Arcimboldo series The Four Seasons. Class analyzed what objects, colors, and symbols represent each season.

Students discussed symbolism in art and symbolism of their own personal identity.

Students took turns, by table color, to work with a projector to trace their silhouettes.

Students filled their silhouettes with their favorite things: foods, sports, leisure activities, and some even use bubble letter adjectives to describe themselves.

These made an awesome display for our campuses, Open House, back to school event.
