Stacked Pumpkins

Happy Halloween Folks!

2nd- 3rd Grade Stacked Pumpkins

I was so inspired by Katie Mallette's Stacked Pumpkins. I had to try it out.

Who doesn't love stacked pumpkins!?!  These cuties were a big hit!

Students and I discussed how a face can show different emotions, how shapes can overlap or stack in a composition, and reviewed basic wastercolor resist techniques.

I challenged each student to try to show a different emotion or feeling on each pumpkin: happy, sad, fear, bored, tired, angry.

Everyone loves them so much! How fun!
