Ceramic Snowmen

3rd grade is working on these fantastic Ceramic Snowmen.

Students fused 3 small pinch pots together using slip and score methods to create the snowmans body.

Students created a coil, a rope of clay, to attach a scarf to their snowman. They also learned easy hand building techniques to create  forms for the nose, hat, and ear muffs etc. Using old pencils, the created eyes, a mouth, buttons, and etched pattern details on their work. 

They are so cute and  unique just like our artists. Students currently are in the process of glazing.  Once finished, students will have a battery operated tea light to place inside and light them up.  

We are all so excited to see how they turn out.
