Kinder Pop Art Heart In Hands

Kindergarten is learning about Pop Art and the Artist Andy Warhol.

Class read the book Uncle Andy's and watched several short videos about Andy Warhol and his work.

Students talked about shape, color, and repetition in his work.

Students then folded a paper into 4ths. Using liquid watercolor, they painted each space with a different color.  The following class, students painted their hands with black paint. They stamped their hand print in each space. They loved that part! Lots of giggling!

When their work was dry, students glued hearts to each palm.

They turned out pretty lovely!
